This conversation analytic case study of one person with vascular dementia, explores how health-care personnel and volunteers at a Swedish-speaking day care center for the elderly in Finland, address dementia confabulation, by (non-)acquiescing, or correcting the speaker. They are shown to react along a continuum of consent and noncommitment, but do not use correction.
