Annotation

Across two experiments, this inquiry explored the use of social consensus feedback as scheme for surmounting impulsive gender stereotyping, when certain social role nouns and kinship terms are paired. In participants obtaining (fake) social consensus feedback, indicating that their predecessors did not yield to stereotypes, production of inconsistent pairings advanced significantly. Success appears ascribable to social indulgence processes.
