This paper explores how laypersons are affected by textual rendition of scientific uncertainty. The assertive version of a blog article on the negative impact of computer games on children was less efficient than the basic one-sided negative version, whilst the two-sided version (on negative and positive effects) caused a more temperate stance towards the topic.
