Annotation

The U.S. Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study reveals raised (pan-)ethnic self-identification over time and a decrease in heritage language choice from early to late puberty. Ethnic self-identification and heritage language choice were stronger in the Asian subsgroup. Moreover, ethnic self-identification appears to affect language choice for the Spanish speaking group, whereas language choice portends ethnic self-identification over time amid Asian adolescents.
