Annotation
This paper proposes a New General Service List (new-GSL), obtained via sturdy collation of four language corpora (LOB, BNC, BE06, and EnTenTen12) of a total amount of over 12 billion running words. The new-GSL unites core vocabulary items with new frequently occurring ones, rendering current language use, and comprises about 80 percent of the source corpora texts.
