Annotation

This paper uses a corpus of U.S. university classroom discourse to examine its non-informational aspect, centering on the marking of affect, emotions and speaker ‘involvement’ (Chafe 1982) in university professors' speech. Whilst interactivity tends to portend involvement, involvement is not restricted to interactive discourse.
