Annotation

Interviewed German origin Canadians create public sociolinguistic spaces in which they present themselves as German even when they do not actively command their heritage language, whereas interviewed Vietnamese immigrants to Germany support a heritage language ideology; the space they demand for using Vietnamese is confined though to private or family conversations.
