Annotation

Wereas Isle of Lewis and Glasgow youth acquiring Scottish Gaelic in immersion education-as-revival-effort, speak Gealic as an intonation language (prosodically similar to English), older Gaelic speakers talk Gaelic as a language with contrastive word accents (prosodically similar to Swedish). Further analysis of youth intonation indicates cross-language impact from Glaswegian English.
