Annotation
English wh-questions' wh-movement is not conveyed into English speakers’ L2 Chinese and English-Chinese similitudes have very little functions easing English speakers’ dealing with Chinese attitude-bearing wh-questions. Findings back Yuan's (2001) plea that L1 transfer is a relative event in L2 learning and can be explained on the basis of an analysis in Scheidnes et al.(2009), Scheidnes and Tuller (2010) and Prévost et al. (2014) that computation complexity may overrule L1 impact.
