Annotation

Multilingual pupils in Flemish primary schools experienced a negative impact of tolerance towards multilingualism on same-language friendships, linguistic diversity being of lesser interest. For pupils from Dutch-only homes, linguistic diversity negatively affected the amount of same-language friendships and tolerance was irrelevant for friendship patterns. The latter effect can be accounted for by the intense dominance of Dutch.
