Annotation

Recent research endorses Martineau’s (1972) hypothesis that exhorting disparagement humor might favor prejudice against the targeted group, but, contrary to Martineau, mere exposure doesn't. Disregard humor doesn't start off out-group prejudice, but serves as releaser of extant prejudice.
