Annotation
It is examined whether humor decreases the impact of prejudice type (racist or sexist) on prejudicial communications' judgments. Racist jokes and statements are evaluated as more insulting and showdown-deserving than sexist ones, sexist jokes being rated as less insulting than sexist statements. The preferred response to these jokes is stating “that’s not funny”, but limning a racist joke as racism is considered more fitting than limning a sexist joke as sexism. Finally, those braving racism are more liked than those challenging sexism.
