This paper explores the role of humor orientation, humorous communicative conduct and verbal bellicosity during father–son conflict in portending relational content. Sons’ relational content is boded by lower fathers’ verbal bellicosity for those with fathers reporting high humor orientation. Fathers’ relational content is boded by lower degrees of sons’ humor orientation, and not by verbal bellicosity. Further, sons’ relational gusto is negatively linked to the mentioned use of all humorous message types in a father–son conflict.
