This article's data sample centers on cultural-pragmatic characteristics of English and Chinese linguistic-cultural groups and contrasts their chosen replies to five features of Chinese-English interpreted healthcare interactions. Interpreters appear able to identify (pragmatic) features and elements of interactions and their functions to a higher level than the Chinese and English speakers.
