Annotation

Critically reviewing Meibauer’s (2014) monograph titled Lying at the Semantics-Pragmatics Interface, this paper handles selected theoretical issues relevant to lying and deception. Speaker aim to deceive as possibly required condition for lying is scrutinized, which raises a question as to the status of flagrant lies. Farther, the paper centers on deception executed through implicature.
