Annotation

How do mass media shape medium of instruction (MOI) policies in multilingual education (ME) ? This paper paragons major newspaper coverage of two salient MOI polemics in ME: mother tongue versus English MOI in Hong Kong and the sustained debate on the role of English and Spanish in Arizona, identifying the chief elements of the ideological framings and the implicit political agendas.
