Analyzing drawings by children from Portuguese heritage language (PHL) classes in Germany, it is discussed how bi-/multilingual children render the link between their varied multilingual and semiotic resources, how this reveals their multilingual awareness, and how they perceive their multilingual repertoires and selves.
