Annotation

This study examines home and school literacy patterns of 67 Ethiopian immigrant families in Israel, valuing attitude and practice in L1 and L2 ability, and families’ literacy-driven discourse practices. Ethiopian parents are found to interfere in their children's educational and social life up to the first grade, when they abandon L1 preservation for the benefit of a still imperfect L2.
