Annotation

This cross-sectional analysis explores the profile of advanced adult Catalan learners residing in Catalonia, to grasp L2 contact, attitudes and motivations that underpin the L2 self-concept of this learner group as different from foreign language learners. Principle component inquiry disclosed four driving forces for language study, which are debated in terms of learners' Ideal and Ought-to L2 Selves from the L2 Motivation Self System, in addition to moderating L2 community factors catched out solely in second language study situations.
