Annotation

A qualitative case study of a Malaysian airline company offers an analytic account of the linguistic proficiency traits and their use in the multilingual glocal workplace. Results indicate a pluralistic view of linguistic skills that encloses the use of functional business, Malaysian, and lingua franca English as well as the practice of other language codes. Whilst English appears dominant in the workplace, the interest of a pluralistic perspective on linguistic skills in various glocal contexts is emphasized. The study also elucidates how language pedagogy in higher education can back workplace diversity.
