Annotation

Based on constructivist reading and modern identity theories, this paper examines how three adult Korean English as a foreign language (EFL) speakers make meaning of the novel The Catcher in the Rye, their identities moderating the process. The ‘L2 reader identity’ notion is helpful for grasping the complexity of the identity work of readers who produce meanings at the crossing of languages and cultures.
