Annotation

This paper explores the various dynamic, changing and interacting discourse systems in modern Chinese media practice. Du Bois' concept of stance is employed to examine the potential stances assumed by the three central Southern Chinese newspapers (i.e. Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, Guangzhou Daily, and Southern Metropolis Daily) in reporting the Sanlu milk scandal, with divergent hybridization degree between at least the politically and the professionally motivated discourses.
