This paper explores Twitter attitudes in the wake of the July 2014 Norwegian terror alert. Based on discursive psychology, it offers new views on securitization as an argumentative process in social media. Twitter users appear to creatively employ social media as reaction to securitization, supporting attitudes about diverse themes: (1) the authorities’ notification and ways of rendering the terror alert; (2) the spread of liability to lay people for verifying unsound events and actors; and (3) the question of ethnicity and guilt.
