This paper explores survey responses transmitting Swedish and German police officers' grasp of unfair workplace conduct. It presents some vital strategies of explication of the cultural meanings allotted to forms of discrimination as well as defense of or opposition to biased conduct in professional settings. Opposition to discrimination is exhibited via (1) exposition of underlying motivations, (2) of a critical self-image and (3) strategic selection of report mode. Dissimilarities between Swedish and German respondents are focus on detail, on factors underlying discrimination and on classic communicative practices concerning discriminatory conduct.
