This study explores the role of bilinguals' code-switching in their creative skills. Selective attention is a possible cognitive mechanism that could benefit from elaborate code-switching and ease creative feat. Though usual code-switchers showed greater innovative skills than non-usual ones, they did not differ as to selective attention. Code-switching caused by a specific emotional condition and by absence of a particular lexicon in a target language seems linked to a growth of innovative ability.
