This study of Dutch/French bilinguals and monolinguals points out that bilinguals' naming patterns' acquisition (in this case for common household objects) begins more or less ensuing monolinguals' early stages, with separate naming patterns in the two languages, but convergence rules the later developmental path to a greater extent for bi- than monolinguals.
