Annotation

This paper centers on the debate over racist tweets about the first Indian American Miss America, Nina Davuluri. It examines why “ancient” cultural logics on race re-emerge on social media in the age of “novel” or “color-blind” racism. It shows the tenacity of racist discourse, its complementarity with post-racialist ideologies, and how social networking technologies mold communication on race, culture, and identity.
