Annotation

This paper uses Cultural Identity Spectrum Theory to explore identity construction and positioning of faith-rooted nonprofit organizations (FBOs). Intercultural communication studies have not conclusively examined religion and identity, especially as they cross socio-economic class and racial exclusion. As religion is one of the most conflictual social divisions, this paper positions FBOs as notable (inter)cultural sites, and tracks an FBO's Secular–Religious place on the Cultural Identity Spectrum to critically start cultural discourses around the organization, to move its identity to help historically trivialized groups.
