Annotation

This ethnographic study explores language maintenance and ethnic identity connection practices for three immigrant Nepalese families with primary to middle school children in the UK. It examined previous exposure to home country, cultural, ethnic, and social literacy practices in diverse contexts through a nine-month term. A phenomenon labelled peripheral ritualized practices appeared, and exposure to it over time generates positive attitudinal changes toward multilingualism and diversity.
