Annotation

The key social variables defining code-switching conduct between Lulogoli, Kiswahili and English in the Logoli speech community in the cosmopolitan Kangemi colony in suburban Nairobi, cover age, schooling, status and the diverse interactional social fields. This backs the insight that code-switching forms a strategy and negotiation designed to maximise interactional profit.
