This critical discourse analysis of the Dutch public television show ‘Uit de Kast’, broadcast for the past three years, in which young male and female lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) partakers uncover their hitherto hidden homosexuality, argues that the show frames LGB emancipation as a personal difficulty and not as a socio-political matter with moral and ideological proportions. This ironically might impede LGB emancipation.
