This study argues that the current English as a medium of instruction (EMI) situation in the United Arab Emirates, with university students tussling to acquire subject matter given their poor English skills, could be improved by bilingual English-Arabic education, enhancing students’ English proficiency, whilst retaining their national identity and original culture.
