This case study of two culturally and linguistically distinct U.S. primary classrooms compares limitary educational language policies with the theoretical principles of culturally upholding pedagogy. The overall perceived restricted set of culturally upholding practices points out the need to comprehend the language policy spaces where teachers can lessen some of the outcomes of limitary regulatory learning approaches.
