Annotation

L2 nativelike speech is examined by comparing amount and spread of diverse kinds of multiword structures (MWSs) in the speech of highly advanced Swedish speakers of L2 English, L2 French and L2 Spanish, executing a role play and an online retelling task, with matching native speakers. The L2 groups appear nativelike as to their use of MWSs as social routines in the role play. The most important category in the retelling task, collocations, appear underrepresented in all three L2 groups, when compared to native groups. Moreover, the English non-native speakers (NNSs) were nativelike on more MWSs dimensions than the French and Spanish NNSs.
