Japanese business magazines' masculine ideological discourses on Chinese study for merit-based business aims, put Chinese on a par with English as the two global languages, aver that learning Chinese characters is less onerous than learning English for many businessmen with apathetic behavior towards language study, and are rather unprejudiced by increasing political Japan-Sino tensions.
