It is proposed that bilingualism is incoherently linked with cognition and deferred dementia onset; all speakers (mono/bilingual) possess non-linguistic ways of advancing cognition; and gains from bilingualism are inconsistent as individuals differ as to amount and types of experiences fostering cogniton.
