Annotation

A self-paced reading task containing sentences that switched between participants’ L1 Dutch and L2 English, showed a cost for switches into L2 but not for switches into L1, and the size of the costs corresponded with L2 ability, suggesting that switch costs in language comprehension rely on language dominance.
