Annotation

Using a combined theoretical basis, semantic theory and pragmatic model, this paper unites loanwords in the fasion domain with vagueness to explore the English loanword ‘print’ in Spanish fashion, opposing it to and comparing it with native near-matches. The interest of ‘print’ lies in its undetermined, uncomonly vague nature as a loan, which allows its adjustment to diverse fashion contexts less fit for the more limited definition of the native terms.
