This study explores how 126 telephone conversations, where transfer is clearly pursued by at least one of the participants, are transmitted and re-opened in calls to the Swedish Board for Student Support. Call-takers make certain that callers realize that they are being transmitted and some even frame the re-opened call as transferred, whereas others don’t; in the latter case, the interactional charge of fixing a common frame for the call as transmitted lies with the caller.
