Annotation

Using a corpus of 150 diary report forms written by Persian-speaking informants, seven diverse, though connected, expectations were found to be at work when people ‘take offence’. These hopes were not homogenously and evenly shared by all community members, which may be explained by referring to both cognitive and relational fundaments of expectations.
