Lamjung Yolmo (Tibeto-Burman) questions have interrogative structures that predict the evidential form of answers (tracing interlocutor stance in interaction), described as the ‘anticipation rule’. Anticipation is predicated on a form of ‘type-conformity’ expectation, and speakers attend to their interlocutor's knowledge state. Self-answered questions behave otherwise than interlocutor-directed questions.
