Annotation

Contributing a novel sign language to an inventory of differentially evaluated language varieties, including Tzotzil and Spanish, -positioning the signers of a single extended household in highland Chiapas with respect to hearing speakers and to one another-, illustrates both rapid language creation and change and ideology evolution of apt language form and use in even such a minimal speech/sign community.
