Annotation

Parents' rhetorical questions to preschoolers are omnipresent within collaborative problem-solving, and pivotal to Vygotskian pedagogy. This study explores how exposure to rhetorical questions assists children in internalizing language as a reflective tool. Correlations checking for child age and language skills disclosed links between low parental socioeconomic status, parenting stress and less recurrent questioning as a discourse style.
