Drawing on the novel elaboration of the K'iche' Facebook platform and Microsoft Windows' K'iche' version, this study treats the dispute between Western and Maya language ideologies, manifest in actual Guatemala translation practices, as international corporations recruit individual translators and consultants and evade involving the indigenous institutions responsible for standardization and linguistic revival.
