Exploring social memory formation in the interactive context of an oral history interview, involving an English-speaking interviewer, a Tibetan-speaking interviewee and her translating daughter, this analysis discloses a generational discrepancy in participants' narrative molding, and stress amid participants trying to aline recalled events with ideologies that establish interviewees as political history attestors.
