Annotation

This study uses a pragmatic method to evidence how celebrity chefs use humorous self-deprecations in single-hosted television cooking shows to divert, and construct solidarity and legitimacy. Self-deprecation also preserves the speaker from criticism and fosters dominant values of what is fit and unfit gendered conduct.
