Annotation

This diachronic corpus analysis states that a shift towards parataxis as preferential structure of concessive constructions in German business articles, is limited to translated language, due to language contact with English. Yet sentence-initial conjunction use expands in this genre (as observed for popular science), which may further prove it to be a case of language change via contact in translation.
