Annotation

This corpus analysis reveals how metaphors in the media coverage of the global 2008 financial crisis, rendered diverse phases and severity of negative (fear and anxiety) emotions. They were intended to raise readers' negative feelings, which reinforced the articles' news value for the newspaper.
