This study explores how ‘rival’ national and post-national discourses affect linguistic identity construction in Albanian immigrant lyceum students in Greece via essay analysis. The students appear to endorse the national, homogenizing discourse and especially Greek monolingualism, thus seeking the social gains of speaking Greek.
