This paper debates how a language and soft skills training approach to Canadian immigrant integration -assumed as civic and work linked rather than ethno-cultural-emerged to fit the needs of Canada’s post-Fordist labour regime. These skills' value is conditionally and relationally determined in context-particular events, rendering prejudice against immigrants prevalent and unspecified.
